i know that im supposed to be on hiatus. i know im supposed to be studying. but i have just finished an incredibly brilliant book. it’s wonderful and it’s amounting to one of my favorite books so far, and it, perhaps, is even better than Ender’s Game. really, im so astounded and so happy reading this even tho i cried twice towards the ending and even tho the whole thing’s really screwed up n mann i just feel so much emotion u know. im feeling so much sadness and sympathy for ender, for bean, for petra even. for all those kids it’s just damn screwed up lah they are damn poor thing and bean knew all along. bean’s really smart he’s really really smart.
i dont think anyone can understand how much i love this book. not unless u’ve read ender’s game, not unless u’ve read at least 3 books (this is only my third). until u really learn all that u cant really sympathise with them. and it’s only after reading so much that i love the characters. i love ender and i love bean, even if bean’s really weird. i love love love them so much that when they get hurt i feel really sad too. the part where i cried was when ender cried because he realised he killed bonzo. i dun rmb crying in ender’s game tho…
but u see, bean, the unfeeling thing, could feel. it’s very obvious that he was no longer obsessed with ender and that he loved ender. and i always feel so sad when people hwo love each other so much cannot show each other that. i dunno how i’d deal with the situation had i been in it. i would have died from not being able to tell ender how much i love him and i dunno how they all survived but i guess it was because they were soldiers. in addition, i highly highly HIGHLY recommend this book because it gives u not only bean’s account, but the entire account of ender and his game. u get to see how all of them were going crazy. how ender needed bean.
how bean, albeit he wasnt given any honor at all, did it because he loved ender and he wanted to help him in his game. he knew he had to win. u know i just respect bean so much after reading this. even tho bean’s really weird and all that, he kind of stops being weird when he gets to know ender. and that’s because ender brings the best out in everyone. he brings the best out in everyone, and anyone, and he brought the best out in bean. omg i feel damn sad all over again :( u see, even tho the earth was saved, they all ended up screwed.
it’s horribly unfair but that’s why i broke out of my hiatus i suppose. dunno lah… i really love ender and bean and actually, everyone who fought for ender. u see the people who LOVE ender u know. u know once u love ender u gained so much respect towards him. it’s like everyone loves ender. those who are good, they know that ender’s the one and that he can lead them all to victory. wah when bean found out demothenes and locke were ender’s brother haha… bean is so intelligent also u know he wrote back to earth to locke and demothenes separately not knowing they were peter. and tho surprised, he was so incredibly smart to foresee everthing…
then i realize that it’s all fiction… which renders me even sadder. but i think that’s the mark of a truly good book. one that can make u cry n empathise without telling u some loser sobstory boohoo inspirational shit, and one that develops truly remarkable characters.
actually, i love this book even more than ender’s game, but u can only truly appreciate it after reading ender’s game. it’s a parallel story and i love it because im not too into the whole scifi part of the saga. im more interested in human relationships and how people think and react. wah love this book im so glad i bought it. it’s officially tied for first place with ender’s game on my list of favorite books thats how gd it is! :)
highly recommend it!!!! k fine maybe im the only weird one who loves this book so much. even if u dont love it like i do, it’s definitely worth a read. and for those people scared of scifi, dun worry it doesnt come on so strongly until xenocide and speaker for the dead and those weird books i didnt bother reading. michelle can clarify that for u ;)
for those people who havent read ender’s game or anth, dont read this yet. it’s essential that u read ender’s game, THEN read ender’s shadow. it helps u to love the book more cuz u understand better :) :) my boyfriend <3333333 and this book is just about as CAPTIVATING (which means u cannot put it down) as ender’s game and as fun because if my sis can read it, anyone can. ok im an official ender fan. i wanna be enderrrr haha…
ps. ok i must have more discipline. like how i woke up at 5am to finish the book and havent stopped reading since :( ok real hiatus now. sry ah.
